Every year we host a martial arts event where all 100% Martial Arts & Fitness locations get together joined by other schools to celebrate the success of their newly promoted black belts.
It's a full day training camp with masters in all kinds of styles ranging from Jiu Jitsu to Karate, Capoeira, Grappling, Judo, Taekwondo & more. It’s an opportunity for all of us to be exposed to and rekindle our relationship with some of the masters and mentors that have helped shape our style.
Although my own reasons and goals have changed over the years, I still get excited every time I get to go to training camps like these because I have experienced the many benefits of attending them. Here are some of my reasons to never miss a Master’s Summit camp:
- It’s a growing opportunity: Every time I participate in a martial arts event (tournament, seminar, workshop, etc) my martial arts improves tenfold. Being exposed to other teaching styles and martial arts styles helps me connect the dots and have allowed for many “aha” lightbulb moments.
- It’s fun: Instructors are there to impress, and they’re bringing their A-game. I get to see and practice things I usually don’t do on a regular day at the dojo. Plus - it’s something in itself to be training in a big open space with 200 other people.
- It boosts my motivation: Watching the black belt graduates perform and being there and sharing the mats with other martial artists makes me want to go back to the dojo the next day to keep training and improving.
- It’s inspiring: Team mates, friends, instructors, students - this is where they all get promoted to their next rank. I get to be part of their success but most importantly it helps me to set my own goals and understand what I need to do to achieve them.
- It’s priceless: Only the best instructors we know are invited to this event. For the price of one seminar with any one of the instructors, I get to spend a whole day amongst them, and in a pretty awesome venue!
Every black belt I know will give you different reasons but we all agree on one thing: it’s a must for us. Adults and kids of all levels are welcome and yes, kickboxers, we consider you martial artists too! There is a mat just for you guys.
