“Mom, can we go play at the park today?” “Dad, can we go out to dinner tonight?”
Those might seem like simple questions throughout our busy lives, but really there is so much more to them. They’re things that take up our time. There are only 24 hours in a day. What we make of it is up to us.
We constantly go full speed, trying to be productive at work, spend quality time with our family at home and somehow make it into the gym, but something has to give. As hard as we may try sometimes, we can only push ourselves to the limit so many times. But learning how to modify our tasks at hand, we can actually achieve more than we thought we could.
The first thing to remember is that you don’t need to spend hours at the gym to maintain your healthy lifestyle. It’s just not necessary. It’s entirely possible to train, strengthen and progress in a small period of effective time spent. Try increasing the intensity of your workout and you’ll be surprised with the outcomes.
Make a habit of your healthy lifestyle with your family. Use family bonding time to go for walks or make a healthy meal together. Hold one another accountable and set goals to achieve together. Maybe do a competition of who can be the most active in a month. Getting creative with these types of things will give you some of that quality family time back.
These days, people have less free time than ever before. Make time for yourself, work and your family and you will find yourself happier than ever.
